I grew up in Colorado with parents who loved the outdoors and shared the wonders of the natural world with me. Whether it was riding a bicycle or catching crayfish in a pond, I spent as much time as I could outside and, to this day, I still do. When I am not at school, I am running, biking, fishing, or turning over a log to see what is underneath.
I teach because I love sharing in the process of discovery. Simple rules drive complex systems and it is a magical moment when a student’s eyes widen and a smile creeps across his or her face because they truly get it.
