Michael Symber is a graduate of The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago. He has a Bachelor’s of Fine Art Degree, with an emphasis in sculpture and bronze casting. He began as an apprentice to Chicago sculptor Richard Hunt upon graduation, and worked for him for five years. While Michael has worked in five bronze foundries, he learned the craft of welding and fabricating steel from Hunt. Michael is a working sculptor at present and works on private commissions as well as exhibiting his art. Michael’s work is abstract but his iconography often incorporates symbolic images such as violins, fish and tools.Michael began his education degree at Northeastern Illinois University. After moving to Colorado, he received his license from Regis University, Denver.This year will be Michael’s third year at Ryan Elementary, but marks a unique point in his career as it is the first time he will teach at only one school. Michael believes that the amount of integration and authenticity that will be possible within Ryan’s S.T.E.A.M. model is astounding. Michael has two daughters Luna 17, and Bramble 15, who are the love of his life. In addition to their singing, Tae Kwon Do, competitive softball, and artistic talents; they are strong, hilarious, and loving girls.
